Bug Description

hi,

as mentioned here (upstream) https://github.com/jonas/tig/issues/54, since git changed its behavior about how submodule are cloned, tig is no longer working inside the submodule, which is a serious blocker.

i have rebuilt locally the tig-1.1 tag (from upstream), and confirm that the problem is indeed fixed.

any chance to get tig-1.1 quickly in the archive , even before 13.04...

thx

Here is the patch: https://github.com/jonas/tig/commit/590d170213a5ed1c05603262f88b5708eb10598c

Raring (13.04) still has 1.0 and is affected therefore.

It would require a Stable Release Update (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SRU).

Changed in tig (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Medium

Since this is fixed in saucy, should this be marked as a backports issue rather than a update request?
