Changing view to icons/list/compact causes search results to reset, and the search to start over again.

Bug Description

Definitely annoying and unneccessary

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu

12.10 32 bit
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center
nautilus:
  Installed: 1:3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4.2
  Candidate: 1:3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4.2
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4.2 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal-updates/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1:3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main i386 Packages

3) What you expected to happen
a) Open Nautilus
b) Search for file
c) Wait for results
d) Goto menu > view > Icons or List or Compact, choose one
e) Results are redisplayed appropriately in the selected view

4) What happened instead
a) Open Nautilus
b) Search for file
c) Wait for results
d) Goto menu > view > Icons or List or Compact, choose one
e) Nautilus restarts search
f) Wait for results again
e) Results are redisplayed appropriately in the selected view

If the results have already been searched for once, steps 4e and 4f should not happen.

Thank you for your bug report, that issue seems to be fixed with 3.6 in raring
