Bug Description
This would be nice for people who use eg. GNU Screen or TMux and get "tabs" that way, and therefore have no use for Terminal's GUI tabs which are just taking up a lot of space for no reason. Also for people who simply don't like tabs. I'd be happy with nothing better than a dconf-editor setting.

I had considered this before and actually made a branch with this by default, but I didn't think it fit the project's plans. However, given your tmux/screen argument, I reconsidered it and I think it makes perfect sense.
