Sort of fixed. The validation error was there because there was no character encoding set for the document. We have now added a default character encoding on the HTTP server, meaning that all documents that output text/html will be sent as UTF-8.
Note that this fix is confined to our own webserver on the test server, but default character encoding should always be present, so there wasn't really an HTML error in the first place.
