Bug Description
On my laptop (Dell Studio 1558), the login screen mirrors the two displays (laptop screen and extra monitor), and at a low resolution at that (lower than the greatest common resolution between the two monitors). This looks pretty ugly by default; mirroring isn't a big deal but the low resolution is pretty off-putting.

This happens to me with unity-greeter too, which makes me suspect it's a lightdm bug.
