Software updater has hung on the last two kernel package installs

Bug Description
The last two times I've had a kernel update it's hung as per below, and is only fixable with a "kill && apt-get -f install"

This appears to be a duplicate of bug 1163142, looking in dependencies.txt we can see an unfixed version of aptdaemon.
