I removed the quantal tag because it won't upgraded there without an SRU.

I don't think Xamarin cares for Linux support on that, so don't hold your breath.
And MonoDevelop 4.x wasn't released for Linux either.

Thanks for reporting.

I see that monodevelop 4.0.12+dfsg-2 is available in Ubuntu 14.04, so I believe this is fixed.
