only show underlined mnemonics when menu activated via keyboard

I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring). When I open an application menu using the mouse, Ubuntu underlines all mnenonic characters in the menu. I think this clutters the display and isn't useful if I'm using the mouse. I think mnemonic characters should be underlined only if I open menus using the keyboard (e.g. via Alt+F10).

If you don't show the links, people won't know that keyboard short cuts are available, or what they are.
If you show them, people using the mouse might actually figure out that the keyboard is faster.
Please do not dumb down the interface for the sake of "streamlining".
Microsoft took away the short-cut indications with Office 2007 and later, and they might be "clean", but they are hideous to use for those that want to work fast.

I'm not familiar with Office 2007, but the behavior Adam is suggesting here is the same as in Windows 2000 and later. If you're using the keyboard, you'll see the underlines. If you aren't, you won't. That's smarter, not dumber.
