Bug Description

Binary package hint: knetworkconf

I was attempting to create a new network profile using a wired ethernet connection, and I wanted to disable my wifi card. I marked it disabled, but when I saved the configuration and went back to the Network Interfaces page, the interface was enabled again. The other settings were retained.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?

The entire advanced network configuration module has been broken for quite some time due to bug 229366, so it would be impossible to ascertain the status of this bug in Intrepid until that bug has been fixed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

In KDE 4 (Kubuntu 8.10) the Network Manager Applet is used to edit connections. In a Virtual Box I was able to disable the wireless connection and verified with ifconfig. Reading bug 229366, things have changed significantly since then.
If you still experience problems with the latest version, please provide detailed step by step instructions to reproduce and related version numbers.
