Bug Description
My Ubuntu box starts GDM at 1024x768. But my lousy monitor will give only 60Hz
there, so I've changed my resolution in Gnome to 800x600 and got 85Hz. I haven't
notice nothing for quite long time, because I normally halt machine after I have
finished my work. But today I wanted to logout, and to my surprise GDM login
screen popedup in 800x600. You could see login box, but all buttons on the
bottom of the screen was gone. Shoundn't GDM back to orginal size? :-)

probably not a gdm issue, gdm doesn't set the resolution. Could you attach your XFree86. 0.log and your /etc/X11/ XF86Config- 4
/var/log/
(if you use warty, or the xorg equivalents if you use hoary) ?
