Unity: unmaximize puts window in the wrong position, and titlebar + window control buttons become unresponsive

Bug Description
To replicate:
1) Log into unity.
2) Open Nautilus.
3) Maximize Nautilus (either by double-clicking the title bar or using the button)
4) Unmaximize naitlus (either by double-clicking the title bar or using the button)
Expected behavior: Nautilus returns to the same size and position it was at before, and the title bar and its buttons continue to function
Actual behavior: Nautilus returns to the same size, but not the same position... it is placed a title bar's height lower than it used to be, and the title bar is completely non-responsive to any mouse interaction. I can't click it, drag the window to a new position, or use any of the buttons -- they do not highlight or respond to clicks.
Keyboard controls still work (CTRL + SUPER + UP/DOWN), but with every unmaximization, the window gets placed 1 titlebar's height further down the screen, and the titlebar and buttons never work again until the program is killed (which I have to do in the launcher or with the pull-downs) and restarted.
This makes Unity borderline unusable for me, and only started very recently.
NOTES: This happens with nVidia and Nouveau drivers. This also occurs right off of the LiveUSB. I'm thinking a recent change really did something wrong here.
