Bug Description

On opening the Desktop Preferences dialog, the wallpaper immediately disappears and the dialog displays "(None)" in the wallpaper field.

If set in the dialog it is applied, but on closing and reopening the dialog exactly the same thing happens again.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.

I cannot reproduce this bug in any of the following currently supported and development versions: trusty, utopic, vivid. I tried setting a different custom wallpaper from the LXDE menu and by right clicking on the desktop. I could not get the wallpaper to revert either within the same session or after logging out and back in. I was testing on a machine with one monitor, and the wallpaper set to stretch.

If there are other specific requirements needed to reproduce this bug, please add those to this bug.

It would help us a lot if you could also test this on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 1157234 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
