After removing shotvell & shotwell-common, shotwell installed whitout problems.

The issue is with a buggy ppa version, seems it's from ricotz who uploaded a copy from the debian version to the elementary-os ppa:

that package split shotwell in shotwell and shotwell-common binaries and creates conflict

Rico, you probably want to merge back the binaries, otherwise upgrades will not work since we don't split -common in Ubuntu
