Not obvious that subscribing doesn't require commenting

When I check the "notify me about bug changes" checkbox a comment is required to process the change.

Of course, I would like to subscribe without a comment sometimes.

You can use the "Subscribe" link in the top left list of actions. Maybe it's confusing to have both.

After attemempting to submit a bug in Ubuntu via apport and finding it's already been done, the only obvious way to subscribe to said bug in malone is to check the "E-mail me about changes to this bug report" under the comment section (as I just did now).

People (including myself) have left a lot of unnecessary comments (and therefore irritating devs) because of this.

Perhaps once it's obvious how to subscribe from the list of subscribers, the separate "E-mail me about changes" checkbox can be removed.

I think the check box still will be required, for a while longer at
least. The checkbox isn't there to make it more obvious; it's mostly
there so that it's easier (and doesn't require another page load) to
subscribe.
