Bug Description
After updating the Raring system on my Lenovo T400 laptop today and rebooting into the new kernel (3.8.0-13) the screen size is not recognized any more and the screen comes up with 1024x768 default resolution. Booting into the previous kernel, 3.8.0-12 solves the problem.
/var/log/Xorg.0.log is attached.

Workaround without rebooting into old kernel (but not solution):
Start System Settings and go into Displays section, turn off "Mirror displays". Then two displays appear side by side, the "Laptop" and "Unknown". "Laptop" is the internal display of the laptop (LVDS1), Unknown is the VGA connector for an external monitor (VGA1). No external monitor is connected. Set "Laptop" to its native resolution (1440x900 in my case) and turn off "Unknown".
Now it is possible to use the laptop standalone with its internal display at the correct resolution, but problems are:
1. The login screen is 1024x768
2. Manual intervention needed when connecting a projector.
So the regression from 3.8.0-12 to 3.8.0-13 needs to get fixed.
