Bug Description

I'm not sure what the process is exactly about requesting new features, as a bug or blueprint, so I picked this way.

While I don't see the point in letting Noise function as a UPnP server for the same reason given before (https://bugs.launchpad.net/noise/+bug/823360/comments/2), I'd love to see Noise function as a UPnP control point or Remote User Interface (RUI) (whatever you want to call it) in addition to just a client (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/noise/+spec/plugin-upnp).

Getting client functionality implemented would be the first requirement. With control point functionality one can use Noise to tell renderers/player what to play from behind your desktop instead of playing the audio on the desktop on which Noise is installed.

Is this something that fits within Noise's goals?

I totally support this. Having an upnp control point functionality would make noise outstanding in the group of graphical linux media and especially libary based music player. Neither the big player like Rhythmbox and Banshee nor the less popular applications can act as an upnp control point.
