Bug Description
Installed 2.0-426-
GUI file managers, such as Nautilus, were unaware of the existence of mplayer because it does not install the necessary .desktop files to associate it with the MIME types it can handle. Seems like this should be part of the packaging for Ubuntu.
Work-around: follow the procedure here:
