I was changing "radio" stations when the crash occurred. Haven't seen it before; this normally works ok. Restarted rb and that same station started just fine.

Thanks for reporting this bug, Rhythmbox has received a lot of updates since it was reported. If you have to use the newest version of Rhyhtmbox and you see this bug again please report back.
