Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the
current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can
test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could
upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other
logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thanks. I'd forgotten all about this bug & package. Just tested:
$ apt-cache policy qpxtool
qpxtool:
  Installed: 0.6.1-4
  Candidate: 0.6.1-4
  Version table:
 *** 0.6.1-4 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
and it appears to be working on Jaunty (64bit - 2.6.31-20-generic). I will test on the 32bit machines later this evening.

Ok, I'll mark it as invalid for now because we don't know what caused for problem. Just reopen if it crash again.

Working in 32bit karmic as well. Tested on another machine with a standard CD-R drive and a DVD-RW/CD-R drive, so Invalid (or fix released) status is fine. Thanks for the reminder that this bug report was still open.

Added note: not related to the original bug report, but might be a good idea to revise the menu so that qxtool appears in Applications|System Tools. Currently it only shows up in the Debian|Applications|System|Hardware menu & most folks do not have the Debian menu turned on by default.
