I can confirm this bug in Debian ktechlab 0.3-9.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create new circuit
2. drag for example a battery in the canvas
3. once you release the mouse ktechlab crashes

I am also experiencing this bug (ktechlab crashes in Intrepid). I'd be willing to collect data for anyone attempting to solve this. I miss KTechLab :(

As a workaround you can uninstall the version of KTechlab in the Intrepid repository and install the DEB downloaded from KTechlab's sourceforge page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ktechlab/

This one seems to work ok for me.

According to this theard of Debian bug tracking system, there is a bug fix uploaded to Mentors. Maybe it can be ported to Ubuntu.

A new release of ktechlab, which is going to fix this issue, will be launched soon. When it does, I will update the .deb and try to get it into the repository.

This behaviour is confirmed in GuadalinexEdu when you are working with a Circuit but there is no problem when you work with a FlowCode.

This bug is solved upstream, I've just test ktechlab_0.3.7-2_i386.deb package from debian sid and it's possible to add any component to a circuit.

Not sure if it makes a menu entry or not.

I'm pretty sure it is also fixed in Debian, the upstream bug report indicates that it is fixed. Is it ok to mark it "Fix Released"?

I'm not sure what Guadalinex is. Can someone comment on if this bug is fixed in this distribution?
