Bug Description

Binary package hint: qtparted

I tried to install Kubuntu from original CD brought to my country. Double clicked on the installer icon on the desktop, selecting my country as my location. But when she finished to prompt "Detecting partition" (more or less, sorry I forgot), she suddenly stopped without giving any partitions I have. Besides, all buttons below the installation window were inactive mode. I have no choice but to close the installation process.

The strange thing is I found qtparted it self started finely (I started it from kde menu, not through KDE installer). I doubt that qtparted still have too much bugs. This is my computer specification:

This is the result of both command.

Kubuntu 7.04 desktop edition.

It stopped in window "Prepare disk space" and exactly after the Window Dialog "Detecting file systems" closed. Below "How do you want to partition the disk?" was only blank panel.

I got those lines in shell (through command lining "ubiquity kde-ui". Those lines was taken as I moved to next stage of installation: "Prepare disk space"

I'm really sorry that I have missreport the problem. Kubuntu took so long to view the "Prepare disk space" window (almost 2 minutes without any information to make me aware that installation was still on progress) that I thought that was QtParted problem. Finally I successfully installed this Kubuntu Desktop 7.04 on my machine. Thanks for your attention.
