Bug Description

When it appears it flashes in hte middle of the screen for a moment, most visible when using a openGL application/game (supertuxkart/hedgewars)
i usually notice it when gmusicbrowser changes tracks (via its notify plugin)

when using compiz it can also result in some lag

on a side would be nice if the placement was 10-20 pixels lower on the screen

Does this problem still exist in newer Xubuntu releases?

I am currently using 13.10 and maybe some outdated stuff from the xfce 4.12 ppa (source is disabled), but i think i purged it over a issue several months ago
also have getdeb enabled
i think i have a few outdated things from the xorg edgers ppa as well (nvidia driver)
i have also upgraded my GPU from a 550 TI to a 650 Ti Boost
i just ran a game of supertuxkart & hedgewars with this command running
while [ 1 -eq 1 ]; do notify-send --icon info "hello world";sleep 3;done
and i was not able to reproduce it

i will give 14.04 a try later today

Thanks for testing it again. If you also cannot reproduce this issue in 14.04, then please change the status of the affected Ubuntu package to 'Fix Released'.
