During installation with "apt-get install python-scitools" I get the following warnings:

I get the same warnings during installation of this package on Ubuntu Raring. However, based on the comment above, this should resolve itself once a new a version of scitools is released and packaged in Ubuntu.

Still reproducible with scitools 0.9.0-1 (same version) on Ubuntu Utopic.

I'm setting this bug to "Incomplete" as it's not seen any activity for some time. If this is still an issue when using a maintained release of Ubuntu then please let us know otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

I took a new look at this. When installing python-scitools on Ubuntu 16.04 I don't see any such warnings in the log. Doesn't seem to be specifically mentioned in the changelog for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scitools/0.9.0-2 , but looks like this fixed it somehow. Thus marking it as Fixed now.
