Bug Description

When I am trying to print PCB from KiCad, and use PDF Creator, or Adobe PDF Printer, or any other PS output, or print PCB on PostScript Printer, all tracks are hairy-thin and some pads are missing. When creating Gerber files fom this same brd file, checking using KiCad Gerber viewer, everything looks good, all pads are on place and tracks have correct widths. But when printing output by same way as previously, output is again corrupted.
When printing using PCL, output is without any error.
I have also loaded same gerbers into ViewMate, and printed using PS, output was correct.
Problem is with build 3796 and 3984, build 3256 works correctly.

Seems a bug inside wxWidgets.
Therefore do not expect this is fixed soon.

Workaround: use the build-in ps or pds output (plot menu) instead of printing function.

Hi, I have a problem with the work arround, I need to print to layes (Front and Edge) in the same page. Is there any posibility to do that without editing by hand the PS files?

Thanks.

Hi,

direct solution doesn't exist, but you can use (like me) any
graphic/layout editor (Adobe InDesign, CorelDraw!, Adobe Illustrator,
etc.) for placing *.ps files onto one page as you need and then print
directly form this application on printer or to file (*.ps, *.eps, *.pdf).

Regards

Tip
I have the same problem with printing of board in version 2013-04-19 BZR 4011 via PDF Creator. I use PCX format for editing of motives by graphic editor and printing folies for prototypes.
Now in new version i create the gerber files, open it in a old version of GerberView and print those by PDF Creator. Unfortunately, marks for drilling is not possible.

Efectivamente a mi también me ha pasado igual, al imprimir las pistas salen como hilos y he perdido algún pad, voy a intentar la solución de utilizar la opción plot....

Still the same with Rev. 4650.

It is silly: I have two same boards next to next, the first is corrupted by printing the second not...
And if I print in color the output is completely corrupted...
But the workaround with plot to pdf works still.. Maybe this should reported to wxWidgets?

Hi,

I had the same problem (thin pads and tracks with pdfcreator or Adobe distiller).

The workaround I found is :
- print with the installed "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" printer
- open the xps file, then print it with pdfcreator.

pads and tracks are now OK on the pdf file.

NB : I use Kicad build 4022 on Windows 7

Me ocurre lo mismo al imprimir con la impresora pdf, las pistas salen muy delgadas.
