Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-restricte
My webcam does not work with the ov511.ko
modprobe ov511 resulted in following syslog:
[92856.696023] ov511: disagrees about version of symbol video_devdata
[92856.696031] ov511: Unknown symbol video_devdata
[92856.696239] ov511: disagrees about version of symbol video_unregiste
[92856.696241] ov511: Unknown symbol video_unregiste
[92856.696319] ov511: disagrees about version of symbol video_device_alloc
[92856.696322] ov511: Unknown symbol video_device_alloc
[92856.696360] ov511: disagrees about version of symbol video_register_
[92856.696362] ov511: Unknown symbol video_register_
[92856.696496] ov511: disagrees about version of symbol video_device_
[92856.696499] ov511: Unknown symbol video_device_
I then tried to compile it myself, but it did not work.
I think the new compiled module landed in:
/lib/modules/
whereas the original is in:
/lib/modules/
so i copied the module from the upper location to the "original", and now i get a picture (not good, but loads module without error)
So i seem the module is broken.
Sorry if my description is not good, but its not easy for me to explain.

Sry,
bug is no bug. Was just my fault. Did see to late that installing a new v4l-dvb also installed a new ov511 driver. The ov511 from feisty does work for me.
