I upgrade from 0.6.6 and there doesn't seem to have problem, but running
dpkg-reconfigure trigger the problem.

Now i cannot install lirc.

The missing script (setup-driver.sh) is not in lirc-modules-source. I
installed lirc-modules-source, build a package even if I don't need to, and
installed the lirc-modules package.

I still get the same error. I don't have a previous lirc installed, and this
is a fresh install of 0.7.0pre8-1.

Anyway, lirc-modules-source is not really required when using devinput as
driver, and starting lircd as "lircd -H dev/input -d /dev/input/event2"

Attached please find a patch that fixes 287559 (FTBFS due to trying to
create /dev/lircd) and this bug (missing setup-driver.sh). Or at least
to the best of my knowledge fixes them: I don't have the hardware to use
lirc myself, so I can't test them, and am hoping someone else will
verify that they do work.

The fix: include the contents of setup-driver.sh in the lirc.config
script.

Hi Lars,

I've tested the patched lirc package. It is now installable. However, it
does not work for me. lircd can listen to socket /dev/lircd. I can see
output from syslog whenever a button is pressed on my remote. irrecord
works, and I was able to create a lircd.conf file from it. But applications
seems not to be able to interpret what is in the .lircrc file or not able to
see the buttons pressed. I used irw to test if my pressing the buttons get
recognised, and it does not print any data. I used ircat to test my .lircrc
file, and again it does not print any data.

I've tested the lirc-0.7.0.tar.bz2 from www.lirc.org with a vanilla make, and
that worked for me. That means my configuration is ok, and ideally should
work with your package.

Attached is my hardware.conf. If you need more info, let me know

Regards,
Art Balingit

Yes, the package actually in unstable is 0.7.0pre8. I am building a
package that fixes several issues using the latest upstream source, and
it will be great if you can test that. I now have the hardware but lack
the remote (lost in a move).
