RFE: Preference for disabling bracket autocompletion

I'd like a preference to disable pair autocompletion as it's counter-productive for me:
* For new code I type the closing bracket anyway, making it a no-op
* When editing existing code it invariably sticks things in the wrong places, adding an extra step of deleting what it just added

I do see a work-around in https://answers.launchpad.net/scribes/+question/161964, but editing a root-owned file is pretty bodgy.

In general I'd get more use from highlighting pairs and making it obvious when they're mismatched.

Version is 0.4-dev-build1052 via Ubuntu.
