Bug Description
Version:
- Kubuntu: Feisty Fawn 7.04
Test-case:
- Open System Settings -> Computer Administration -> Screen & Monitor
- Select Color & Gamma tab, change some setting and then apply the change
- Log out and restart X server
Expected outcome:
- Gamma changes, otherwise screen settings are the same
Actual outcome:
- X server starts in 640x480@60Hz interlace mode
I'm pretty sure I had earlier successfully changed resolution from the same tool, and the reason for the broken configuration was the gamma change I tried. For a newbie this could be a bit scary as it would probably normally happen on next boot. The interlace mode is not really usable and I'm not sure this situation is fixable with the UI tool. After that happened I edited xorg.conf by hand and didn't touch the UI configuration stuff anymore (even to verify that it really was gamma setting).
I have MGA G550 gfx card.
