I am hitting this at the moment. No Unity and limited windowing support. Trying to run in failsafeX also fails to draw a desktop at all. All I get is a blinking cursor and the computer is hung. Any suggestions as to how to back out the NVidia driver?

Unity doesn't work after logging in. I open terminal and type "unity" and get this repeating error:

Using an HP Probook 4510s, 64bit 13.04 Ran some small updates this morning, and now I'm stuck at this.

before update the kernel i have already installed ati legacy drives with no problems. Now after update the kernel (i updated this morning) all programs that make a use of opengl don't run.

I also updated to 13.04 and my unity is completely broke! When I try to reset compiz and unity all I get is:

I can't use unity at all right now...

I don't think this is directly related to compiz, but more to a bad driver configuration.

If you believe the problem to still exist in the latest version of Ubuntu please comment on why that is the case and change the bug status to NEW.
