Bug Description

The packaging for gnome-control-center-signon and libaccount-plugin does not give debug packages, making it difficult to get useful information from users reporting crashes, such as in bug 1134765.

David, what do you mean? They have dbgsym like every other binary on the archive:

Seb, I had no idea what a dbgsym package was before you mentioned it, so would following:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash#Debug_Symbol_Packages

be enough to get a useful stack trace, specifically the -dbgsym instructions?

@David: not sure what you are trying to do, the retracer use apport-retrace to fetch the dbgsym and give you a debug stracktrace, that seems to have worked there, looking at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1122520 comment #3

but yeah, otherwise the dbgsym are just similar to -dbg, enable the ddeb source and you can install debug symbols for any binary (or use apport-retrace if you have an apport report with a dump, it will fetch the dbgsym needed)
