Seeking through media after resuming

First pausing and then playing music in rhythmbox sometimes results in fast forwarding a song.
It correctly plays song after pressing 'next' sometimes.
It also occurs after resuming from sleep.

This bug occurs sometimes but frequently.

Something that nay be of interest: Rhythmbox will seek for exactly as long as music was playing before pausing. Ex: If music is played for 10 minutes (over a few songs), then the music is paused and resumed, Rhythmbox will quickly seek through 10 minutes of music.

Is there any workaround for this! This bug is EXTREMELY annoying!

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
