Bug Description

i created a logical partition for swap and one for / using btrfs (both in the same extended partition). this is on a macbook pro retina 15.4". i am booting using rEFIt off a usb drive that contains the installer that has been "converted to support efi". /dev/sda is a GPT partition, and it contains osx. the installer could not install grub onto that partition and rightly so (it would just mess up mac os). suggested fix: detect this situation and require a /boot partition.

There is no need for a /boot partition. If you want to install grub to a GPT partitioned disk but still boot in bios mode, you need to create a bios_grub partition.

@psusi how does this make the bug invalid? The installer crashed. See log:

Feb 24 17:14:36 ubuntu plugininstall.py: ubiquity.install_misc.InstallStepError: GrubInstaller failed with code 1

Changed back to "confirmed" because the installer shouldn't crash regardless of that comment.
