Bug Description

I have two monitors on a GeForce460 graphics card. One monitor is connected via a DVI switch with which I can switch it between my computer and my TV-tuner. When I switch it to tv, with the computer on, then switch it back after a while, both screens are on, but the image of one screen is stretched to fit both screens. I can't click "restart", because the mouse sensitivity is not stretched. By carefully aiming and trying, I can click a button. But it's easier to just hit crtl-alt-del to re-logon. After logon, screens are normal. I have had this DVI switch for some time, and until recently I used gnome-classic, which never caused a problem like this. I'd love to go back to gnome, but it's broken, and I can't seem to fix it. I'm stuck with Unity, and I have to ctrl-alt-del after watching TV.
