Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 6.10, Flashplayer worked fine in Firefox and Swiftfox. I do install the update packages as they arrive. Since ca. 1 week the Flasplayer does not start any more. The error message is: "The plugin initialization failed"

Any idea which package has conflict with Flashplayer?

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers.
You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage .

I have classified this bug as a bug in "flashplugin-nonfree".

Hello,

I could solve the problem myself. I installed the SW crossover office
after the problem with the flashplayer started. After deleting the
mozilla plugins from crossover office flash worked again.

Hi John,

the problem was the other way round. Flash worked always fine. But the I
installed for a trial crossover office with the result Flash didn't
anymore. It took while until I did uninstall crossover office. Since
then Flash works fine again.

That's all
