Bug Description

Okay, so I spun up a Ubuntu 12.10 box, and installed Munin 2.0.2 on
it from the repository. It looks like munin-cgi-html is installed and
working correctly.
However, all the graphs are broken. munin-cgi-graph isn't getting
called, and it looks like that's because none of the image urls are
formed correctly. The image paths in the HTML look like:

      http://myserver.com/basename/hostname.com/apache_accesses-day.png

This despite having "html_strategy cgi", "graph_strategy cgi", and
"cgiurl_graph /cgi-bin/munin-cgi-graph" in munin.conf.

So Munin is still broken out of the box on Ubuntu 12.10, as far as I can tell.

Hi Chris
I've compare the /var/lib/munin/htmlconf.storable between the package of ubuntu 12.10 and debian squeeze.
Ubuntu is writing fals url:

Ubuntu:
 /var/www/munin/apache-month.html^@^@^@^Nfilename-month
^_/var/www/munin/apache-week.html^@^@^@^Mfilename-week^D^B^@^@^@^C^D^C^@^@^@^C^D^B^@^@^@^A^D^C^@^@^@!

S/cgi-bin/munin-cgi-graph/domain.net/srv1.domain.net/apache_accesses-day.png^@^@^@^Gcimgday
U/cgi-bin/munin-cgi-graph/domain.net/srv1.domain.net/apache_accesses-month.png^@^@^@ cimgmonth

Debian:

6../../domain.net/srv1.domain.net/apache_accesses-day.png^@^@^@^Gcimgday
8../../domain.net/srv1.domain.net/apache_accesses-month.png^@^@^@ cimgmonth
../../static/dynazoom.html?cgiurl_graph=/munin-cgi/munin-cgi-graph&plugin_na=domain.net/srv1.domain.net/apache_accesses&size_x=800&size_y=400&start_epoch=1363366294&stop_epoch=1366217494^@^@^@ $
7../../domain.net/srv1.domain.net/apache_accesses-week.png^@^@^@^Hcimgweek

That's the problem.
Which file creates the htmlconf.storable?

Munin is still broken, out of the box, on Ubuntu 12.10. That is still true today 2013-05-07 . I am in the middle of troubleshooting, probably it will be a very simple easy answer, in the end. But can we please have packages with smart defaults for production level packages that "just work"? :-) Is this Fedora?

Hi Sam
I could you send files, which I've copied from a debian squeeze server. This is working on Ubuntu 12.10 and the new ubuntu release.
Just say me which you wan't.

This might not be the right thread for my comments, although very closely related. I observe errors appearing in the munin graphing logs , on Ubuntu 12.10. On a fresh install, without any customizations. My fix now is to use Ubuntu 13.04. It has a newer version of munin included. I don't believe it's that munin-html file though. something else. but for the time being, just use 13.04, and that's enough. thanks.

Hi all
Whats about this:
1. Someone packs the new 2.0.12 munin to a package
2. Me and other will test it and give a feedback.
3. If all test are passed publish it to the repo
