Download fails on pausing the download

Details: When a download is paused in Firefox 2.0.0.3 and then resumed, it immediately responds that the download is complete. The whole download is corrupted and has to be restarted.

I used pause in the middle of a 4 GBt download on the assumption I could resume! Resume just terminated the download as partly saved.
The help instructions referred to ¨ To recover from a failed download and retry it, just use
the Retry link next to the file entry and Firefox will restart the download for you. ¨
Sadly this is not the case, the only links available are ¨Open¨ & ¨Remove¨

Do I have any chance of resuming this download?

this is a known bug in firefox. there is no way to resume. i suggest u
use a download manager such as Flashget or DownThemAll.

Why is this bug marked as invalid?

I'va got the same problem on FF3.0.5 (using up to date 8.10)

I attached a screenshot of the german error message shown up after resuming a download.
There is a button to resume but if you click it it fails with resource not found error.

pS: If it's important I'm also using FF Addon - Download Statusbar

Im not sure who added bug Bug #303294 as a duplicate of this one but they are definitely not the same problem if you read carefully.

This bug describes pausing a DL as the *problem* where as in Bug #303294 I described pausing as the solution to the problem that downloads would automatically pause/stall themselves and have to be recycled for it to complete the download.

Those are not the same set of conditions to cause the problem the OP of both bugs describe, therefore Id like to request you remove it as a duplicate.

I just read the last poste :

I confirm this.
It also manifests itself for much smaller files. It can stop stop several times for files no larger than 20MB. I cannot recall downloads 100MB or larger running without stopping. It is totally unpredictable.

The last one is about this problem here, the first post if the bug isn't similar to this one here.

Can you pelase confirm this is still an issue with 3.0.7 and if so please file this bug upstream at: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org and add the link to this bug report so we can track upstream progress.

I can't reproduce it again with V 3.0.6 now.
using:

http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/releases/9.04/alpha-6/jaunty-desktop-i386.iso

pausing and resuming works fine.
I'll mark this bug as invalid again, because I was the one who changed the stat
