Bug Description
The layout list is just a list. In order to change the current layout, one need to go to the wingpanel icon or modify the list to put the selection on top.
There should be a way to change current layout within the plug without modifying the list order. There should be an indication of the currently used layout in the list. This is related to, but not duplicate of, bug #1112633.
