U1 thinks files are synced on WS 7, yet they are not

Bug Description

I am syncing several computers. So far succesfully. My installation of U1 on windows 7 has been working fine in the past. I do not have admin rights on the computer, but my admin installed U1 for (I think even with the right certificates).

Now it says the sync is up-to-date, but if I click on 'go to the web for .. sharing options' and I scroll through my files, it is clear that there is a discrepancy between the WS 7 files and those online.

Just for your info, I'll explain what stuff I tried:

- I wanted to sync a folder of which I had synced a subfolder in the past. U1 refused that so I renamed the folder, synced it, stopped syncing the subfolder on most of my machines, renamed the folder to its original name and synced it again.
- I ended up with all the data I wanted. Then I reorganized my files in that folder (simple cut and paste) and u1 says they are synced, but they are not (in other words, my WS 7 version of the folder is different from my 12.10 one)
- I tried adding a 'test' folder, U1 said it synced, yet I didn't do it

I did not find any log following the instructions on https://one.ubuntu.com/help/faq/where-are-the-log-files-kept-on-windows/

Thanks in advance,
wC

This problem still takes place. I just reinstalled UbuntuOne 4.1.9.1.1 on my vista system. after I deleted the program files directory and the local files (who still do NOT contain logs) and rebooted. Here too the computer wrongly thinks the system is up to date. I am back to usb-sticks to copy files and email. U1 works like a charm between my ubuntu machines, but I feel I cannot trust it on windows. Now it is getting stuck on "getting information, please wait"... I regularly loose several hours just waiting for U1 to sync or trying to find a solution. All help is welcome.

I have the same bug on Mac OS 10.8.3. Even if I disconnect and re-connect Ubuntu One, nothing get synced but it displays "File sync is up to date".

I have updated just yesterday to the latest version of U1 and guess what: the problem persists. I made quite a lot changes cleaning my documents folder. Individual files are added, folders are added, but when folders are moved, the new folder is made, but the old one is not deleted on other machines. Meanwhile *u1 still claims it is synced*.

Frustration is the word to use. Just to paint the picture: I now have a different directory on my Ubuntu machine than on my W7 machine. Moreover the web version of the files is inaccessible. For what its worth my files are also synced in a local network (though I don't think that should affect the bug).

Can someone from the developers please take this bug up?

To be clear: when files and folders are rearranged in W7 this does not sync properly.

I've been having the same issue: I added a file within a local synced folder which never got synced online. Even "touching" the time of this file did not prompt a synchronization. I had to reboot the system to make the sync process work.

Same here, syncing between a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 laptop. Quite frustrating since I use Ubuntu One for my private source code repositories (SVN). Sometimes the 'current' file gets synced, but the revision itself does not, sometimes it's the other way around, and so forth. Disconnecting and reconnecting does not work.

Obviously I don't want to reboot or re-install U1 everytime I do a commit/update.

I surely hope this gets fixed soon!

Why is this bug, which is affecting Windows versions of Ubuntu One and has not been fixed yet (as it seems), marked as a duplicate of bug #575817. The latter is a bug affecting the Ubuntu version and has been fixed. Am I missing something?
