Cannot install; py-central byte-compile failed

Binary package hint: scribus-ng

I am using Kubuntu 7.04 installed from CD. I tried to install scribus-ng and the following happened:
Richte scribus-ng ein (1.3.3.8.dfsg-1ubuntu1) ...
pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (37)
pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (37)
dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten von scribus-ng (--configure):
 Unterprozess post-installation script gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück

(rough translation:
configuring scribus-ng (1.3.3.8.dfsg-1ubuntu1) ...
pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (37)
pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (37)
dpkg: error while processing scribus-ng (--configure):
  Sub-Process post-install script returned error 1)

This is just a default installation with some additional audio codecs to make m4a, wma and the like available.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?

Sorry. I can't try that at the moment. I think it is safe to close that bug. Google will still reveal it if someone has the same issue. And then it is easy to reopen it.
