Thanks for taking the time to report this problem. You've given good information and the developers will look into the issue.

had to fix it by doing the following ::

sudo dpkg --configure -a

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo dpkg --configure -a

then it worked after reboot
