hugin will not open any of my files

Hi hugin will not open any of my files, saying (no matter what I rename them) that it cannot open files with -and it gives a list of characters commonly used to write code but that are not in the files name -and that I need to rename them. I can send you a screen shot? I have tried any number of names and times.

Hi, it might just as well be a part of the path to your files. Have a look at the folder structure... or even better: open a Terminal window and from Finder, drag on of these files on the Terminal window. Now you can see (and copy) the complete path. Does it contain special characters? If unsure, can you post it here?

Also drag and drop from iPhoto sometimes seems to cause problems.

Hi Nad thanks for your responce. Here is the thread. Odd thing is that the thread show a character that is not in the file name. Here is the terminal cut/ paste

/Users/uhanepono/Desktop/CREATE/1:\'13_canon\ 650D\ /panoramas/_MG_6039.CR2

Here is what the folder name is

"1/'13_canon 650D"

I gues I have to change the folder name.

Hi, I did as you suggested and hugin seemed to accept the files and start loading them but crashed before completing the operation every time. Can I use raw files with hugin? I will try convert to jpg.

hugin doesn't accept Raw files, you'll need to pre process those, e.g. in RPP from http://www.raw-photo-processor.com
Save to 16-bit Tiffs, use VCDMF (in "Interp."), no need to degrade the quality using JPG at this stage.

Does hugin still crash? Please post the error log...

Thanks for this, Zarl. I will take it under advisement. After only relying on photoshop it is daunting to try and figure all the different settings, like the lens info etc. Learning as I go.. 16 tiffs after HDR processing with photomatix should be OK I gather from your post. thanks again and aloha, Uhane
