Compiz, maximize vertically if screen edge hit, places window-controls out of reach

When you have multiple windows of a same application opened (eg. LibreOffice, Gimp, ...), one of the windows is always repositioned with the window-controls out of each => each time you have to resize the window manually and then reposition the window, so to get control of the window-controls. I could avoid this behavior by switching the tag "maximize vertically if screen edge hit" off. The window-controls seems to be placed far above the top of the screen or if the size of the window matches the vertical size of the screen then the controls are hidden behind the top panel.
