[apport] compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV in eventLoop()

Upon pressing the "enable desktop effects" button, the screen went completely white, with only the cursor showing. It appeared as though the cursor was still responding to the open windows (for example, I had firefox open and although i couldn't see the window, if i moved the cursor around and rolled over a link, the cursor would still change to a hand)

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart gnome fixed the problem, returning to a desktop without effects enabled.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Gutsy Gibbon. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. I believe this bug is fixed in gutsy. Please reopen the bug if you can reproduce with an up-to-date gutsy install.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. This report was the result of using a specific video card, which I am no longer using. I may be able to put it back into my system this weekend to confirm that it is indeed fixed.
