Bug Description

This is probably not in the right section, but I don't actually know what package is producing the error.

When I start up my machine, it goes through the normal boot processes until it halts after reporting the following :

Loading the saved-state of the serial devices...
/dev/ttyS0 at 0x0300 ( irq = 4 ) is a 16550A
Illegal UART type: undefined
/dev/ttyS0 at 0x02f8 ( irq = 3 ) is a undefined
init rc-default main process <PID> terminated with status 1

Oddly enough, the machine will boot into the maintenance mode and I can switch to a different init level and use the machine as normal, but it is rather inconvenient to do that every time I start the OS. I have tried manually configuring the set serial file, allowing the kernel to configure it (using dpkg-reconfigure setserial) and I have removed the setserial program all together. Nothing has fixed the problem, so perhaps the error exists elsewhere?

This problem started as soon as I performed a dist-upgrade from 6.10 (edgy) to 7.04 (feisty) about a week ago.

The machine in question is a late version of the HP TC1100 tablet (1.2Ghz Pentium M).

Thanks.
