dosbox does not react to function keys

Bug Description

Running under X, dosbox does not notice when I press Ctrl-F1, Ctrl-F9, etc.
Emacs receives these keys fine, so it appears to be a dosbox problem, not a unity one.

When I run dosbox under the console, the screen is scrambled, Ctrl-f9 is ignored,
and I have to use killall in another console to exit dosbox.

I tried usescancodes = false in .dosboxrc but it did not change anything
(I run dosbox with the -conf key, so the conf file is read, as I can see from the output from the [autoexec] section).

Function keys work for me in an updated raring installation. dosbox uses SDL for input [0], so it could be a problem in SDL under precise. Moving there.
Please, file a different bug report for the problem with running it under a virtual console; maybe, have a look to the link at [0] for that matter too. Thanks!
