ytree crashes on start

Bug Description
ytree crashes immediately when run. It definitely initializes the screen, because it breaks my terminal unless I close it or reset it by exiting another curses program.
I've attached the output I see.
Ubuntu 12.04, up to date as of Jan 16 2012.
