emacs24 has no dbg package

I'm seeing core dumps in Emacs24, but the backtrace is not very useful as there are no debugging symbols. I can't find any emacs24-dbg package available that contains the debug symbols, in any release of Ubuntu. It would be good if such a thing were available.

See this bug reported against Debian Emacs23, which contains a patch that adds a debug package:
