Bug Description
I was encountering this problem in Ubuntu 12.04, but it has become much more serious since upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10 last night. When I first log on, the launcher icons usually don't work and I cannot open files without going into the Dash. Then, an arrow pointing into one of the icons will start flashing rapidly, and the computer becomes unresponsive, or responds very slowly when trying to open or close programs.

Michael Lynch, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) , as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg <replace- with-bug- number>
Thank you for your understanding.
