Updated the "tumbler" to version 0.1.27-0ubuntu1 - raring, I installed tumbler-plugins-extra and still, once in each session, when trying to display thumbnails from the "Video" repeats the same mistake. Of course, no thumbnails are displayed.

Zaktualizowałam program "tumbler" do wersji 0.1.27-0ubuntu1 - raring, zainstalowałam tumbler-plugins-extra i nadal, raz na każdą sesję, podczas próby wyświetlania miniatur z katalogu "wideo" powtarza się ten sam błąd. Oczywiście żadne miniatury nie są wyświetlane.

Hi Coya,

because tumbler is a package that reside in Universe there will normally no bughandling from the Ubuntu core developers.

The normal strategy is to reporting upstream.

I have checket the actual version number of tumbler we have in raring.

In moment it is 0.1.27.

Unfortunately this report is on version 0.1.26

(Sorry, for the delay, but you know more bugs arround than hands for).

Befor we can do the upstream report, could you please retest if the crash is still occuring with the actual tumbler version.

If so we progress and inform the original developers(normally they would ask you the same to do).

For observing the crash it migh be helpfull to wipe out before the

/var/crash/

directory.

You can to this with the

sudo rm

command on terminal complete(be patient with rm)

or you can call from terminal

gksu nautilus

then naviagate to

/var/crash and delete all files in there directly.

After this try to reproduce the crash and report back(you can close the new report as dublicate of this here).

After this set the status of the report back to new.

I know much work, but experience teaches that is needed.

Thank you in advance

melchiaros

Hi there.
Due to the fact that I was forced to return to the stable version of Xubuntu 12.04, I am not able to duplicate the bug described above. Since the problem appeared already in version 12.10, perhaps, after the update on my laptop, I try duplicate the error when I update the system to version 13.04. I see, I think, something spoil, and how I will succeed, I immediately write. Just give me some time.
At the moment, however, I can not help you.
Regards
Coya :)

The problem occurred because I was denied access to the .thumbnails directory. The problem occurred after installing a new operating system if not fully cleaned home directory with hidden files. Currently removed as root, directory .thumbnails and the problem does not occur. Thumbnails are displayed correctly. :D
