Bug Description
If python-mode is going to provide 'python (why?), it must provide all of that library's APIs.
I have semantic enabled in my setup. It calls python-
provided by python-mode.

That dates back when fighting with TQS-bug and some code was borrowed from python.el.
Seems not useful indeed, going to remove.
